Kacip Brass Earrings
Kacip Brass Earrings
These earrings are crafted from the handles of a kacip sirih, a traditional tool with interlocking blades used to split or crack hard objects such as buah pinang (areca nuts). The kacip is one of the essential implements found in a tepak sirih, the ceremonial set used in Malay culture to prepare betel leaves for chewing. Made with the lost-wax method using brass from upcycled bullet shells.
